Portugal cruised to a comfortable 6-0 victory against minnows Faroe Islands in theirWorld Cup qualifier, with Andre Silva stealing the limelight from Cristiano Ronaldo .
The young FC Porto striker scored a first-half hat-trick to set the European championson their way, before team skipper Ronaldo added to the scoreline midway through the second half with a powerful strike.
Joao Moutinho clinched the fifth goal of the night with a fine strike from distance after a quick break by the visitors in stoppage time, before Cavaco Cancelo made it 6-0 with a deflected strike that was the final kick of the game.
Portugal were dominant on the night, while Faroe Islands only mustered two shots, both of which failed to trouble Rui Patricio's goal.
The win sees them leapfrog Faroe Islands in Group B and go second with six points, behind Switzerland, who have nine points from nine after they beat Andorra 2-0.
It caps off a good week for Portugal following their 6-0 thumping of Andorra on Friday, and sets their qualification campaign back on track following their 2-1 defeat to Switzerland in the first game.
