Polokwane City were hoping to stun Orlando Pirates when they hosted them in a league encounter in the city of Polokwane.
Rise and Shine goalkeeper George Chigova was called into action nine minutes into the game when he parried away Bucs star Mpho Makola's cross.
At the other end three minutes later, Pirates keeper Brighton Mhlongo was forced into a low save by Polokwane striker Thobani Mncwango.
Polokwane forward Rodney Ramagalela beat his marker in the right in the 29th minute before playing a powerful low cross which was well saved by Mhlongo.

Polokwane midfielder Sipho Jembula looked to catch Bucs shot-stopper Mhlongo from range, but his effort blazed wide with five minutes left on the clock.
However, Tendai Ndoro snatched a late equalizer for Pirates in stoppage time with a great header and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
