Northern Ireland - Irish Premiership: Linfield ease past Ballinamallard at Windsor Park.
Linfield move to within two points of leaders Crusaders by beating Ballinamallard United 4-0.
Striker Andrew Waterworth's first league goal of the season and a Sammy Clingan free-kick put David Healy's men 2-0 up by half-time.
Mark Haughey and Paul Smith added further goals for the Belfast side in the second half.
FOUR STAR BLUES CLOSE GAP AT STOP
Linfield cruised to a four-goal defeat of Ballinamallard United to move within two points of the top of the table.
Andrew Waterworth opened the scoring for the Blues as early as the sixth minute. He was spotted setting off on a run by Niall Quinn who duly delivered the through ball which was taken around James McGrath and into the net.
Sammy Clingan made it 2-0 after half-an-hour. Callum Frempong conceded a foul for a challenge on Jamie Mulgrew some 30 yards from goal and up stepped the former Northern Ireland international to fire the set piece into the top corner.
The Mallards might have pulled one back moments from the break when a powerful left-foot effort from Johnny Lafferty was well saved by Roy Carroll before being deflected over the crossbar.
But Linfield made sure of the points just short of the hour mark when Mark Haughey nodded a downward header into the net from Quinn's corner.
Paul Smyth completed the scoring on 82 minutes when he rounded keeper after a mistake at back.
