MATCH RESULT

FULL TIME: Brisbane Roar 3 – 1 Melbourne City
Brisbane Roar come away with three points after an incredible game of football.
Brisbane were ruthless in the first half, but were stopped by the goalkeeper time and time again.
In the end it was Patrick Kisnorbo’s own goal that put the Roar in the lead, before Brandon Borrello slotted in a second to ensure that Brisbane lead by two at half time.
Melbourne City came out swinging in the second half, as Bruno Fornaroli found space to find the back of the net and bring one back for City.
It was end-to-end football from there, with both sides coming incredibly close to goals only to be denied by brilliant goalkeeping and defending.
Sorenson was forced out of goal for City to come up for a corner right at the end of the game, but the corner was cleared and Henrique found the net from half way to secure the win for Brisbane.
Brisbane Roar come within two points of Western Sydney Wanderers at the top of the A-League table, as Melbourne City’s unbeaten streak has been snapped.
The final score from Suncorp, Brisbane Roar 3, Melbourne City 1

MATCH PREVIEW

Brisbane Roar are looking to get within three points of top-the-table Wanderers when they host Melbourne City. Join The Roar from 7pm (AEDT) for live scores and commentary of this A-League fixture.
Searching for their third win in a row, Brisbane know that anything less than three points could put Western Sydney out of reach.
The Roar are coming off a hard-fought, 1-nil win over the Central Coast Mariners in Gosford, with Dimitri Petratos finding the net late in the game in hot conditions.
Melbourne City have been on fire in the past few weeks, and are one win away from leapfrogging Brisbane into second on the ladder.
A win over the Roar would be City’s fifth victory in a row, and having scored 16 goals in their past four games – and an incredible 29 in total – City have scored more goals than any other side this season.
Bruno Fornaroli heads the league tally, with nine goals, and he will be eager to extend that in Brisbane. Jamie MacLaren heads the Roar’s list, having scored six times this season.
Prediction
If Melbourne City can keep on target the way they have in recent weeks, Brisbane’s defence could be in for a long night.
Brisbane Roar 1-2 Melbourne City
