TEAM NEWS
Manchester United's Jesse Lingard is a doubt with the hamstring injury that has kept him out for three weeks.
Long-term absentees Antonio Valencia, Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo remain out.
Swansea's Federico Fernandez is still battling the bruised heel which saw him miss the draw at Crystal Palace.
Caretaker manager Alan Curtis rotated his squad for that game but Angel Rangel, Leon Britton, Ki Sung-yueng, Wayne Routledge, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Andre Ayew could all return.
MOTD COMMENTATOR'S NOTES
Steve Bower: "So a team definitely looking for a new manager facesone that could be, should Swansea beat Manchester United for the fourth consecutive league game.
"Louis van Gaal has remained defiant and will hope the intensity of his team's performance against Chelsea is repeated.
"They do though have to change their dreadful recent scoring record against a side who have kept three clean sheets in a row.
"Alan Curtis has steadied the Swansea ship at an important time, and I saw his first match in charge, which should have resulted in at least a point at Manchester City.
"Van Gaal has called Swansea his 'ghost team'; he needs a new positive spell to begin the new year."
WHAT THE MANAGERS SAY
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal: "This is not the first club, maybe the last club, where I have a bad period. I have had bad periods at all my clubs and I have to say the best fans are at Manchester United.
"In such a difficult period, they are applauding the performance of the players and that is fantastic.
"But still we need to win because we want to be at the end, at the top of the league and not in the middle."
Swansea City caretaker manager Alan Curtis: "When you look at our 'goals for' column it is a problem, we need to score more.
"It's not necessarily the strikers to blame for that as we need to produce better quality service into the frontmen.
"We have stopped it at one end with three clean sheets on the trot, but obviously we have to score goals and improve that department."
LAWRO'S PREDICTION
The pressure on Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is not about an expectation of winning 4-0 each week, it is about how the the team are playing.
With that performance against Chelsea under their belts, even after Swansea's recent improvement under caretaker Alan Curtis, I think they will make a return to winning ways.
