ARSENAL chief executive Ivan Gazidis is "not happy" to miss out on the title again.
Despite their impressive form, the Gunners' title hopes were dealt a huge blow as Chelsea grabbed a late winner to beat QPR 1-0 today.
Arsenal have now won eight league matches in a row and face Reading in next weeks FA Cup semi final at Wembley.
But that isn't enough for Gazidis.
When asked about Arsenal's showing in the Premier League this season, Gazidis said: "We are not happy but we are going to keep pushing to the end and see how far we can go.
"We are happy with the way the squad has developed and we are very focused how we can make a positive end to the season.
"After that it will be a question of how can we progress the team further so that we can have an even better season next year.
"We have a squad that's clearly coming together. It's a relatively young squad so it will continue to improve."
Gazidis is also worried that Arsenal will find it even harder in the future to maintain a top four spot as more television money flows into the Premier League.
He said: "I think the league is going to get more and more competitive.
"I do think that is a long-term trend.
"People talk about Financial Fair Play inhibiting competition.
"I think it's completely the opposite because what it means is, you are going to see more Southamptons, more challenger teams coming in because revenue has gone up."
THE dad of love rat Ryan Giggs has said his door is now open if his son wants to “patch things up”.
“At last he’s apologised and that’s a big step”
Security guard
The security guard said: “At last he’s apologised and that’s a big step. I’m speaking to Rhodri and if Ryan wants to speak to me he knows where I am.
Hopefully, in time, we will be able to patch things up.”
Natasha admitted the affair with Giggs, who is now United’s assistant manager, in 2011.
Rhodri and Natasha tried to save their marriage, but divorced two years later.
But Rhodri and Ryan seem to have buried the hatchet recently.
A source said: “Ryan rang Rhodri out of the blue a few weeks ago.
“Rhodri moved on a long time ago, but he was never going to contact Ryan. He was adamant Ryan had to make the first move as he was the one who had done wrong.”
Then the pair were spotted out clubbing in Manchester’s Neighbourhood bar on Easter Sunday.

Ashley Young reborn as derby hero heaps the pressure on Manuel Pellegrini
EASTER has come and gone but there was a belated resurrection at Old Trafford yesterday and it had nothing to do with Jesus being on the pitch.
Jesus Navas could have stolen the headlines had he converted a wonderful chance to fire Manchester City ahead in the opening minutes.
He missed and instead, it was another winger who lit-up a thrilling derby dust-up in the shape of Ashley Young.
Young has been a much-maligned figure since joining United from Aston Villa in 2011 for £18m.
He struggled to adapt and fit in and sometimes resembled someone who had been invited to a party but didn't know anyone else in the room.
When Sir Alex Ferguson retired and David Moyes succeeded him it was no secret the two failed to get along.
His future looked bleak, not least because he had justifiably earned himself a reputation for diving
Fergie didn't do him any favours when he revealed how Young had been signed to replace Ryan Giggs. Good luck with that, Ashley.
But under the guidance of current boss Louis van Gaal, Young has picked himself up to find his feet in more ways than one.
In the space of less than 12 months he has gone from being a falling star to one of the brightest on show at one of the biggest clubs in world football.
His stock has risen so much that he is now an integral part of United's side, to such an extent that he is keeping the most expensive player in British football, £60m man Angel Di Maria, on the bench.
His redemption was complete here as Young scored one then set-up two more for Marouane Fellaini and Chris Smalling to inspire United to a thumping win.
On the biggest stage, in one of the most important games in the footballing calendar, Young stood tall in what was his seventh straight start.
It was just a shame England boss Roy Hodgson wasn't around to witness the second coming of someone who deserves to be handed another chance on the international stage.
There were no histrionics from him here. In fact, the only thing taking a nosedive was the future of City boss Manuel Pellegrini and some of his highly-paid flops.
The defending champions have imploded and there is so much wrong with the team at the moment that owner Sheikh Mansour must feel like jetting in from Abu Dhabi to sort out the sorry mess himself.
On this evidence it seems Pellegrini is keeping some bad company, and I don't just mean his under-performing captain.
Vincent Kompany was lucky to avoid a red card for his crude lunge at Daley Blind, but failed to re-appear for the second half anyway after picking up yet another injury.
His form this season has been dismal, while the attitude and application of Yaya Toure is also a huge concern.
These ingredients mixed together are cooking up something that is about to leave a sour taste in the mouths of City bosses.
John Carver: My players must show their character against Liverpool
JOHN CARVER has challenged his Newcastle players to prove their character at Liverpool tonight.
Toon boss Carver will make changes - despite his squad being ravaged by injuries - following their derby defeat at the hands of Sunderland eight days ago.
And he revealed that the reshuffle won't just be tactical but based on who he believes has the bottle to handle their Anfield test.
Carver was scathing about the lack of mental toughness of some players during their 1-0 defeat to their bitter rivals - a result which looks even more embarrassing after Sunderland's thrashing by Crystal Palace on Saturday.
He said: "There's something in the DNA at this club. We've had different managers but the same players.
"And there are not too many wins next to their names in the fixture.
"Maybe I need to change the team.
“It will be about characters too. Going to Anfield, you are going to need characters”
John Carver
"Maybe I need to change a few positions of one or two players and hope that sparks something.
"It will be about characters too. Going to Anfield, you are going to need characters.
"And I want to see some energy which I didn't see last weekend. We talked about outworking the opposition but Sunderland outworked us again."
Carver believes tonight's venue may prove the perfect environment to launch an unlikely revival.
"It's a great place to go," he added. "For me, the history of football is Anfield.
"If you don't want to go there and have a real go, then don't be a professional footballer."
Such is the sense of disillusionment amongst fans that few expect a positive result tonight.
But Carver is backing his players to improve on their derby no-show.
"It is amazing because they usually do respond," he said. "That is a trait this group usually have.
"There tends to be a response after a disappointment so hopefully the fans will see that and be encouraged to get behind us."
