New York Red Bulls II emerged victorious in its inaugural USL playoff match against Pittsburgh Riverhounds with a 4-2 win in overtime. It came back twice, the second time in overtime, and won thanks to two overtime goals from Karl Ouimette.
“I think we just outlasted them a little bit," said New York Red Bulls II coach John Wolyniec. "We were able to keep the ball a lot and we put them under pressure through long stretches of the game, and it’s not always easy to outlast that. Give credit to our guys -- they just kept pushing and kept running in front of the goal and kept putting balls in the box. We got the goals we needed.”
