Chicago Fire vs. New England Revolution
TOYOTA PARK, Bridgeview, Ill.
July 25, 2015 (MLS Game # 207)
8:30 pm ET (MLS Live, CSN-Chicago)
The Chicago Fire and the New England Revolution meet in a critical match for placing in the Eastern Conference when they face each other for a second time this season on Saturday evening at Toyota Park. The Revolution now sit in a tie for fourth place in the division, having put an end to a five-game losing streak in a 1-0 win against New York City FC last weekend. The Fire are six points out of the final playoff place in the conference, coming off two losses to Columbus Crew SC in a five-day span, but having reached the U.S. Open Cup semifinals at midweek.
  • David Accam scored his first goal since June 6, but the Fire suffered their loss to Columbus Crew SC in a five-day span, falling 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at MAPFRE Stadium.
  • The Revolution put an end to their five-game losing streak, winning for the first time since June 13 as Lee Nguyen scored the game’s only goal for a victory against New York City FC at Gillette Stadium on Saturday evening.
  • The teams are meeting for the second time this season. Diego Fagundez and Charlie Davies scored two minutes apart early in the second half to lead the Revolution to a 2-0 win June 13 at Gillette Stadium.
  • The Revolution have won just twice all-time at Toyota Park – a 2-1 win in 2006, then a 1-0 victory March 9, 2013. The teams played to a 1-1 draw in the only meeting in Bridgeview last year.
  • The Revolution have won the last two meetings between the teams in Foxborough. When the Fire won there last year, it was their first victory at New England since 2010.
