- The Revolution were able to get a second result on the heels of a five-game losing run, Kelyn Rowe scoring a late equalizer for a 2-2 draw with the Chicago Fire on Saturday evening at Toyota Park.
- Toronto FC extended their undefeated run to three games – with nine goals scored in that time – coming back from three goals down for a 3-3 draw at Columbus Crew SC. Sebastian Giovinco scored his 13th goal and added his 10th assists; he has 13 goals and 9 assists on TFC’s last 27 goals, dating back to April 4.
- The teams are meeting for the second time this season. Juan Agudelo scored to give the Revolution a first-half lead, but Michael Bradley netted after the break to leave the teams in a 1-1 draw May 16 at Gillette Stadium.
- The Revolution have won the last two meetings in Foxborough. TFC have not defeated the Revolution at home since 2010, a 1-0 win May 22 at BMO Field. The teams then played to three successive draws in Toronto, before the two New England victories a year ago.
