The 42-year-old will take over the reins of the north eastern franchise for the second edition of the ISL...
Cesar Farias will take over as manager of NorthEast United for the 2015-16 season.
Farias, 42, has managed at the top level of South American football for over a decade or so and in that time he helped Neuva Cadiz win the Venezuelan second division. He also was in-charge of the Venezuelan Under-20 side and aided in them qualifying for the Under-20 World Cup in 2009.
In the 2011 edition of the Copa America, Farias famously guided Venezuela into the semis. Interestingly, Farias has been to India as a professional coach when Venezuela played an international friendly against Argentina in Kolkata back in September, 2011.
“I experienced the passion that Indians possess for football first hand," Farias, who coached Venezuela to the semi-finals of the Copa America in 2011,” said Farias in a statement.
"I have a clear goal in mind: The development of NEUFC and also of Indian football," he added.
John Abraham, the owner of the north east franchise explained his reasons for appointing the South American after his team finished at the bottom of the table in the inaugural edition of the ISL.
"I am thrilled. It's all about winning this season and I'm confident that Cesar's leadership will get us there. He is a unifier and that is important when we have a squad that comes from different cultures and geographic regions. Most importantly, he is young, passionate, has a clear vision for the club," he mentioned.

Delhi Dynamos retain Gustavo Marmentini for the second e

dition of the Indian Super League

ISL's capital club kickstarted their transfer dealings by retaining Gustavo Marmentini, who becomes their foreign addition for the upcoming season...
Delhi Dynamos made their first foreign signing for the second edition of the Indian Super League (ISL) by retaining 21 year old Brazilian attacking midfielder, Gustavo Marmentini dos Santos.

Marmentini was last seen in action for Brazilian Serie A club, Atletico PR for whom he turned out in the local Paranaense state league, where they finished a disappointing ninth out of twelve teams, but managed to stay up after finishing top of the relegation round between the bottom four teams.

Having made seven appearances for the losing cause, Marmentini did not feature in the premier division of Brazilian football, the Serie A, and was last seen in action on the 3rd of May, 2015.

His compatriots, Bruno Pelissari and Romeo Fernandes have also been retained by Chennaiyin FC and FC Goa respectively.

While both Pelissari and Marmentini are on loan at their respective ISL clubs, Romeo has left Atletico PR by mutual consent.

"I am excited to be a part of Delhi Dynamos again. I had some very fond memories last season. The fans are really special to me and I look forward to entertaining them," said the Brazilian attacker who scored five goals in the inaugural season, where the Dynamos failed to make the semi-finals.
