The long-running Ronaldinho-to-MLS rumors seem to be picking up steam.
The brother of the 35-year-old Brazilian playmaker – who’s currently at Liga MX club Queretaro – told media earlier this week that he expects Ronaldinho to leave Mexico this summer, with MLS apparently a likely destination for the former Barcelona star.
Ronaldinho has been linked to MLS on several occasions in the past, including multiple times in2014 alone. He has been rumored to have been in discussions with the LA Galaxy and New York Red Bulls in recent years.
The creative midfielder has played with Queretaro since September 2014, but has run into issues with the club, showing up three weeks late to the team’s preseason for the Clausura 2015. He has five goals in 18 total appearances with Los Gallos Blancos.
Ronaldinho has 97 career caps with the Brazilian national team, helping Brazil to the 2002 World Cup title and playing for his country in the 2006 tournament. He’s most remembered for his time with Barcelona, where he scored 70 goals in 145 appearances from 2003-2008.
